What changed in Donelane, written as what you can now do, newest first.
Turn a team's emails off
The owner of a team can now switch off its reminder emails and its morning digest in team settings, each with one checkbox under the time it controls. The reminder switch covers both the daily reminder and the weekly review reminder, and weekly reviews keep working on the website, so a team can run on Donelane without anyone getting mail from it.
Try Donelane without an account
A public demo team now lives at donelane.app/demo: anyone can open its feed and calendar with no signup, to see what a team's daily dones look like before creating one of their own. Every entry in it comes from an invented team, not a real customer.
Sign in with Google
Sign in or register with one click using your Google account, on the login and register pages and from an invitation link. Donelane trusts only a verified Google address, and if it already matches a password account, that account is linked rather than duplicated, so either sign-in method keeps working afterwards. The password form and the email invitation link work exactly as before.
Weekly team review
The owner of a paid team can turn on the weekly team review in team settings, picking the meeting day and the reminder time. Each member then prepares a private review from their dones and open goals, sorting a few of each into achievements, highlights, fails, learnings and goals, and submits it before the meeting so the team can step through the group's reviews together. Anyone who has not submitted gets a reminder email the evening before the meeting, with a link straight to their page.
Agents can post through the MCP server, with consent
A coding agent can connect to Donelane over MCP and, once a person explicitly authorizes it, read a team's feed and post its own dones on that person's behalf. Every done an agent posts is labelled in the feed so nobody mistakes a tool's work for a person's. From settings, a member can see exactly what they have connected and revoke it at any time.
Posting by replying to the digest email
Replying to the morning digest email posts a done straight from your inbox: quoted text and signatures are stripped automatically, so only the new part of the reply becomes the entry. A reply only posts when it comes from the address of the person the reply belongs to, and reading the same reply twice never posts the same done twice.
Editing and deleting your own dones
You can edit or delete a done you posted, right from the feed or your journal. Nobody else's entries are ever open to you, only your own.
The paid plan: checkout, billing and limits
A team can upgrade to a paid plan through a checkout flow, and afterwards its owner manages the subscription from a billing portal covering invoices and cancellation. On the free plan, a user owns one team and a team holds at most three members before it turns read-only until it upgrades. Plan details and pricing are public on the pricing page.
Goals
You can set a personal goal, and Donelane tracks it as open until it is completed. Posting a done that matches your own open goal's wording completes it automatically, and the feed and digest mark that done as having finished a goal. Goals are personal: only their author can see or complete them.
Likes and comments
You can like any done in your team's feed with one click, and leave a comment underneath it using simple, safe formatting. Both work without JavaScript, so they hold up even with scripts disabled.
Tags on your dones
Typing #word anywhere in a done turns it into a tag, shown next to the entry in the feed, your journal and the digest email. A tag list on the team feed shows how many dones carry each tag, and clicking one filters the feed down to just those entries.
CSV export of your history
You can export a team's or your own history as a CSV file, ready to open in a spreadsheet. The download streams straight from the browser, so even a long history exports without a special report or a wait.
Search your team's history
A search page lets you look up anything posted in your team's history by keyword. Results are ordered like the feed, newest first, so a match is easy to place in time.
Morning digest and evening reminder emails
Every morning, each team member gets a digest email summarizing what the team got done the day before. Every evening, anyone who has not posted yet gets a reminder email nudging them to add one before the day closes.
Team and personal calendars
A calendar page shows how many dones landed on each day of the month, for a team or for your own personal journal. Consecutive days with at least one done build a streak, shown alongside the calendar as encouragement to keep it going.
Magic-link sign-in
You sign in by requesting a link emailed to your address; clicking it logs you in, no password to remember or type. The link is single-use and expires shortly after it is sent.
